The North Carolina Lemon Law covers all vehicles, purchased or leased for personal use, under
10,000 pounds. This includes includes motorcycles. The North Carolina Lemon Law entitles you, as the purchaser of a new motorcycle, to a replacement or complete refund of money you have paid for the bike once it has been proven to be a lemon. If the manufacturer does not agree to do it, then you can also make him pay your attorney fees if you have to fight them in court.
The North Carolina Lemon Law spells out when a bike is presumed to be a lemon. If your bike meets the statutory requirements for what constitutes a lemon, then you are entitled to a ne motorcycle or a complete refund.
First, were the problems you've complained and attempted to have repaired covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
Second, did the problems occur within the warranty period and the first 24 months or 24,000 miles?
Third, did you give the manufacturer a reasonable number of attempts to fix the problems you've complained of? The North Carolina Lemon Law applies a statutory presumption that the manufacturer has been given a reasonable number of attempts to fix your bike if it has been in the shop four or more times for the same problem or for 20 or more business days within a twelve-month period of the warranty.
If you answered "yes" to these requirements, then you probably have a lemon motorcycle! The North Carolina Lemon Law then gives you a choice as to whether you would like a comparable new motorcycle or a complete refund of the money you have paid.
